Graphic design is the process of visual communication through the use of typography, photography, iconography and illustration. From the initial client briefing focus is placed on achieving the best manner to convey the message. It might be an illustration, photography, graphic shapes or a combination.

A logo is a symbol, name or trademark of a company. Logos are used by companies because they represent a concise image of the company. A picture, as they say, can tell a thousand words. People generally find it easier to remember a simple image over words alone.

A cartoonist is a visual artist who can push characters and worlds in many directions. As an example, from a brief description of the characters physical being (height, weight, age) roughs are generated for discussion. Once the character roughs are approved, the final art is generated with the final medium in mind. Print, web, packaging or animation.

Art directors determine which photographs, art, or other design elements to use. Art directors are responsible for the visual style and images in magazines, newspapers, product packaging, and movie and television productions. They create the overall design and direct others who develop artwork or layouts.

Web designers plan, create and code internet sites and web pages, many of which combine text with sounds, pictures, graphics and video clips. A web designer is responsible for creating the design and layout of a website or web pages. It and can mean working on a brand new website or updating an already existing site.
